On September 18 and 19, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan and Ontario's Minister of Energy and Mines, hosted a national energy summit with all Canadian Ministers of Energy. Among the itinerary was a joint visit to the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, where the province in Ontario is building the G7's first Small Modular Reactor — a coveted technology making Ontario a leader on the world stage.

"Last week, I welcomed Canada's Ministers of Energy to Toronto for a first-of-its-kind national energy summit: Connecting Canada  Building an Energy Superpower," said MPP Lecce. "Ontario is leading the charge to speed up approvals and deliver nation-building projects that puts Canadian workers, Canadian technology, and Canadian resources first. We are also keeping the pressure on the federal government to move with greater speed to streamline the regulatory environment and build big in this country. With global uncertainty rising, Canada can't afford to wait — which is why we got shovels in the ground to building the G7's first small modular reactor at Darlington, a nation-building project our government is delivering on-time and on-budget. That's Ontario's nuclear advantage.”
