On April 2nd, World Education and Sharing Day, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, presented a commemorative scroll to Rabbi Shalom Bakshi of the Chabad Jewish Centre of Woodbridge. An international event, World Education and Sharing Day celebrates the life and work of the late Lubavitch Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, who taught that education is not simply the acquisition of knowledge, but also the building of good character.
“On this day, we recognize Rebbe Schneerson’s birthday and his enduring legacy of generosity, education and kindness,” said Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan. “Education is the key to better life outcomes, which is why our government is making record investments in public education, and taking action to ensure our schools are focused on strengthening reading, writing, and math skills in the classroom."
