On October 9th, following the horrific recent attacks by Hamas on Jewish communities in Southern Israel, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, attended a Stand with Israel rally in North York with elected officials including Premier Ford; Olivia Chow, Mayor of Toronto; Melissa Lantsman, MP for Thornhill; Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister; Steven Del Duca, Mayor of Vaughan; rabbis and over ten thousands of members of the GTA community.
“The assault on democracy and the Israeli people must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. We must stand with victims against unspeakable Hamas terrorism,” said MPP Lecce. “In a choice between democracy and tyranny, I stand with Israel and its unshakeable right to security, sovereignty and self-defence. Let us pray for the victims, and continue to be unyielding in our defence of innocent civilians, international law and human decency from this barbarism."
