On August 14th, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, joined local Pakistani Canadian leaders and youth at an event in Vaughan to celebrate Pakistan’s 75th year of independence.
“It’s a pleasure for me to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan’s independence, as well as the incredible Ontarians of Pakistani descent who are making a difference in our community,” said MPP Lecce. “I’m proud of MPP Kaleed Rasheed, and Senator Salma Ataullahjan, for being among the first Canadians of Pakistani heritage to sit in Ontario’s legislature and the Canadian Senate, respectively. Vaughan and King are blessed and enriched because of their positive presence and generosity of spirit in our community."
