On May 8th, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan and Ontario’s Minister of Education, joined representatives from the York Region District School Board, as well as students, and families to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Anne Frank Public School in Maple. MPP Lecce delivered remarks and presented congratulatory certificates.
“Anne Frank is an international symbol of hope and strength in the face of antisemitism and hate, and I am incredibly proud there is a school named after her in Maple” said MPP Lecce. “Ontario led the way in becoming the first province to mandate education on the Holocaust. It is one way we continue to honor Anne Frank’s legacy. Thank you to the incredible Principal, educators, students and families for providing a decade of educational excellence."
