PHOTO RELEASE: Minister Lecce Announces Funding at 15th World Tamil Teachers’ Conference

On June 1st, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, and Ontario’s Minister of Education, joined MPPs Aris Babikian and Logan Kanapathi, along with Tamil educators from around the world at the 15th World Tamil Teachers’ Conference in Scarborough. As Minister, MPP Lecce announced funding of $40,000 to Canadian Tamil Sankam to promote the Tamil language in Ontario’s schools.

“Ontario is home to one of the largest Tamil diasporas in the world, and there’s no question that Tamil-Canadians have contributed so much to the growth and development of our province,” said MPP Lecce. “Our supports will help ensure Tamil students can take pride in their history and learn their ancient language.”
