Photo Release: Korean War Memorial Unveiling

On March 27th, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, joined Stan Cho, MPP for Willowdale, and Michael Parsa, MPP for Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill, at the unveiling of a new Korean War Memorial in Aurora. The event was hosted by Veterans Canada, the Town of Aurora, the Town of Stouffville, the Township of King, and the Aurora Legion.

“We are proud to stand with Canada’s veterans in recognition of their sacrifice in the defense of freedom, democracy, and human rights,” said Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan. “This is why we unveiled the Korean War Memorial – to pass the torch of remembrance to future generations. It was often called the "Forgotten War", yet nearly 27,000 Canadians volunteered to fight against Communist Authoritarianism with courage and bravery. I was honoured to represent King, along with Township of King Councillors Avia Eek and Debbie Schaefer, to ensure we remember those brave soldiers who served from King and across the region."
