On July 29th, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan and Ontario’s Minister of Education, joined York Region District School Board (YRDSB) Chair Allan Tam along with educators and the principal for a Kindergarten program event at Discovery Public School in Maple. Building Blocks for Kindergarten is a special half-day, four-week school readiness program for the youngest learners who have had little or no preschool experience.
“Building Blocks for Kindergarten is an amazing program supporting reading skills and the social-emotional development of inquisitive kindergarten kids in Vaughan,” said MPP Lecce. “By strengthening literacy skills, we’re boosting kids confidence, access to good jobs and Canadian productivity; there is strong support from YRDSB Chair Allan Tam and I for this incredible outdoor hands-on learning experience.”
