Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, joined His Worship Mayor Steve Pellegrini, Township of King, David Agnew, President, Seneca College, along with local leaders to deliver an important announcement for the growing community of King.
In partnership with all levels of government, MPP Lecce has delivered over $17.6M to build and construct a modern, green, and urgently needed community and recreational facility for local families, scheduled to open in 2024.
The centre will feature 124,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor facilities and is being constructed on 25 acres on the southeast corned of the King Campus of Seneca College.
"Today is a monumental day for King families as we get shovels in the ground to build the state-of-the-art King Recreation Centre — a project I have worked on personally with the Mayor to make this community stronger,” said MPP Stephen Lecce. “This represents the single largest provincial infrastructure investment in King history, that will include a larger pool, two ice pads, indoor track, cycling and fitness studios, along with baseball and soccer fields that will serve children, families and seniors for generations to come. Together, we are getting this done!”
