MPP Lecce Visits Long-Term Care and Retirement Homes in Maple to Celebrate Italian Heritage Month

On June 20, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, stopped by the Richview Manor, Chartwell Valley Vista, and Maple Health Centre homes in Maple to celebrate Italian Heritage Month. MPP Lecce dropped into each home with a cake for all residents.

"Every June, I make sure to spend a moment with our lovely seniors — many of whom are now grandparents and great-grandparents that came to this country on a boat with nothing more than hope for a brighter future of opportunity and prosperity," said MPP Lecce. "Reflecting on my family's own roots as immigrants from Italy in the 60s, I remain incredibly proud of the previous generation's sacrifices and hard work to build a better life for their kids — and I have great faith in the next generation to keep that legacy alive .
