On July 14, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, was the guest speaker at Villanova College's Careers and Civics Summer School Class. MPP Lecce walked them through his personal story from his time as President of Western University's Student Government, to working for Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, to becoming MPP for King—Vaughan and Ontario's Minister of Energy and Mines and gave words of encouragement for students looking to pursue government or public service as a career.
"These intelligent students have a bright future ahead," said MPP Lecce. "I had the privilege of joining the summer class at Villanova College to share my personal story and talk about the value of public service and democracy. Having gone abroad to promote democracy following the 'Arab Spring', I feel like it is critical that we elevate civic education and inspire young people to contribute meaningfully to their community and to be proud of their country."
