On July 12, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, spoke alongside Premier Doug Ford at the 47th Annual Ahmadiyya Muslim Jalsa Salana. MPP Lecce has attended the Jalsa every year since before 2018 — the largest Muslim convention in Canada. The Ahmaddiya Muslim Jama'at Canada is headquartered in Peace Village in Maple.

"'Love for all, hatred for none' — those were among the very first words I uttered in Ontario's legislature after the election in 2018 as the proud, hometown MPP for Peace Village in Maple," said MPP Lecce. "It was the fourth caliph that said, 'May the whole world become like Canada, or may Canada become the whole world'. We are here with Premier Ford to reaffirm and pledge our commitment to Canada's pluralistic democratic values — and we stand here today for Canada, for our sovereignty, and for your children's future. Long live Canada!"
