MPP Lecce Meets with Ukraine's Minister of Energy

On October 31, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan and Ontario's Minister of Energy and Mines, held a bilateral meeting with Ukraine's Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk to discuss Ukraine's energy security ahead of another winter amidst continued indiscriminate attacks by Russia.

"We will not sit back as Vladimir Putin weaponizes the winter against Ukrainian families by destroying their electricity grid and civilian infrastructure," said Minister Lecce. "Ontario hosted Ukraine's Minister Hrynchuk to affirm our province's support, including through the recent deployment of generators to keep heat on for innocent families. As Ukraine looks to rebuild, Ontario is uniquely positioned to support nuclear, hydroelectric, and Small Modular Reactor deployment."
