MPP Lecce Congratulates Canadian Athletes at Maccabi Games Tournament in Vaughan

Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, was joined by Laura Smith, MPP for Thornhill, and Chris Ainsworth, Vaughan's Ward 4 Councillor, at the JCC Maccabi Games, one of the world's largest Jewish youth sports events, drawing thousands of visitors from around the world. MPPs Lecce and Smith cheered Canadian athletes on to a successful tournament, hosted in Vaughan for the first time in decades.

"For the first time in 40 years, the GTA hosted the world as 2,000 athletes came to compete in the Maccabi Games, alongside 20,000 spectators," said MPP Lecce. "Vaughan was the proud co-host of these Olympic-style games. It was exciting to welcome young Canadians from Maple to Montreal and well beyond."
