This weekend, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, stopped by sukkahs at the Chabad of Woodbridge and the Jewish Russian Community Centre of South Richmond Hill and Maple. The sukkah is a temporary hut constructed for the Jewish festival of Sukkot to commemorate the Israelites' 40 years of wandering in the dessert.
"My message to the Jewish community is to never give-up. Just like Sukkot serves as a powerful reminder of resilience and unity, these principals are alive and well within the Jewish community as we witnessed all the living hostages released from Hammas captivity. A two year nightmare comes to an end, enabling peace, humanitarian rebuilding, and the end of warfare. We pray that an enduring peace prevails for generations to come, for all peoples of all faith in the Middle East," said MPP Lecce. "Chag Sameach to those who celebrate!"
