On November 7, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, attended a Remembrance ceremony hosted by Muslims from Remembrance and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Canada, headquartered in Maple. MPP Lecce laid a wreath on behalf of the Government of Ontario. Attending the ceremony was Warrant Officer Wali Mohamed, a member of the Ahmadiyya community that served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan.

"Warrant Officer Mohamed is a friend and veteran who served his country with distinction in Afghanistan. He has a simple ask for all Canadians this Remembrance Day:  Wear a Poppy, and Remember Them," said MPP Lecce. "With thanks to the Ahmadiyya community for the moving Remembrance Day ceremony—honouring Canada's heroes who gave everything for our freedom. Lest we forget."
