Updated: Jul 12, 2022

This week, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan along with local leaders celebrated Family Literacy Day at the Civic Centre Resource Library in Vaughan.

Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family. Stephen Lecce in his role as Minister of Education has increased provincial funding for literacy programs and expanded access to tutoring to help support learning recovery.

“This Family Literacy Day, I was pleased to partner once again with Vaughan Public Libraries to promote the love of reading,” said Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan. “Literacy is a foundational skill and our government is committed to ensuring Ontario students are equipped with the right reading and literacy resources and support to reach their full potential. It was a wonderful opportunity for a fun storytime for local children -- thank you to Vaughan and King Libraries for your dedication to our young people."
