On March 22, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, supported the 'Let's Dance for Lucas' fundraiser hosted by local dance studio Ballroom on 7 to raise money for the cost of Lucas Azevedo's gene therapy. Lucas is a four-year-old boy from Kleinburg diagnosed with an ultra-rare genetic mutation. Since then, the local community has rallied behind the Azevedo family, thanks to the relentless work of his mother, Sophia Azevedo. Lucas' story can be followed on Instagram at @LETSCURELUCAS.

"It was so meaningful to join Lucas, his amazing mom Sophia, and one awesome community that rallied at the 'Let's Dance for Lucas' fundraiser to help find a cure for his rare genetic disease," said MPP Lecce. "Lucas is such sweet and happy boy. Please consider donating and following his journey online — every contribution will move us closer to a cure."
