VAUGHAN, ON – On Friday, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan joined the Human Endeavour team to celebrate the results of a $99,600 Seed grant the Ontario government invested in the organization through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The 2024 grant was used to create the “HELP - Home Essentials Lending Place” program, a donation centre, many generously donated by IKEA to help provide household items to newcomers, refugees and low-income families in York Region.

"For years, Human Endeavour has been the bedrock of support for many seniors and families in our community facing difficulty," said Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan. “At a time when affordability is top of mind, I am proud of our government stepping up to support Human Endeavour's charity work to lift up families in need. The return on investment speaks for itself — collecting over $200k worth of everyday essentials — which instills great pride in me to see us making a difference together as a community.”

Human Endeavour used the funds to hire staff needed to help run this new initiative. The grant also enabled the group to design a tracking system and set up a collection and distribution centre in Vaughan for York Region residents. It also helped with some administrative, program and transportation costs as Well.

“Human Endeavour successfully established a facility where donations from businesses, non-profit organizations, and community members are collected weekly, tracked and distributed to low-income families free of charge,” said Noor Din, CEO, Human Endeavour. “Essential items included mattresses, beds, duvets, bed sheets, pillows, furniture, kitchen items, clothing, winter items, prescription glasses, and computers. From October 2024 to October 2025, HELP supported 1,266 community members by distributing items worth $211,000 and enhanced their quality of life,” added Din.

Established in 2004, Human Endeavour delivers innovative, technology-empowered solutions that provide essential support, mental wellness services, skills training, senior wellness programs, and settlement assistance, thereby reducing poverty, isolation, and barriers to inclusion and belonging.
