MPP Lecce Joins Premier Ford for Tamil Heritage Event in Markham

On January 24, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, joined Premier Doug Ford and MPP Logan Kanapathi, the first Tamil ever elected to Ontario's Provincial Parliament and any municipality in North America, for his annual Tamil Heritage Month and Thai Pongal Celebration in Markham. 

"For waves of immigrants, their stories are defined by immense sacrifice and never-ending hope," said MPP Lecce. "Tamils overcame persecution with perseverance, with my friend Logan Kanapathi leading the way as the first Tamil elected in our history. We celebrated that achievement with Premier Ford and this vibrant community at Logan's annual Tamil Heritage Month Festivity."
