MPP Lecce Hosts Inspiring Women's Day Celebration

On March 11, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, hosted his annual Inspiring Women's Celebration, bringing together local women leaders and business owners to celebrate International Women's Day. The event was hosted at Vivo Restaurant in Nobleton, locally owned by Sandra Macri, with desserts provided by Josie D’Orio from D’Orio’s Bakery in Kettleby. The event was co-chaired by Janice Williams, founder of Nobleton's Neighbourhood Watch, and Sophia Azevedo, a mom from Kleinburg advocating for her son, Lucas, who has a rare genetic condition, in addition to keynote speaker Natalie Kusendova-Bashta, Ontario's Minister of Long-Term Care. 

"We dedicated my annual Inspiring Women's Day celebration to all the strong mothers who love, inspire, and lead. From my late-mom, to our event co-chair Sophia who inspired us by her love of her son, to Janice, who took initiative to keep our families safe," said MPP Lecce. "It was a moving night and motivational story by my friend and colleague Natalia — grounded by a shared conviction that every girl should believe in their heart that they can do anything. We also congratulated King-Vaughan resident Nancy Siew, who was just awarded the Order of Ontario — Ontario's highest civilian honour — for her dedication to Canada's veterans, civic education, and Canadian values."
