On April 8, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King—Vaughan, alongside Vaughan MPPs Laura Smith and Michael Tibollo, hosted Peter Bethlenfalvy, Ontario's Minister of Finance, at the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce's Post-Budget Breakfast at the Kingbridge Centre in King City. King Chamber executives also supported and participated in this post-budget event. MPP Lecce and Minister Bethlenfalvy spoke about investments made in the Ontario 2026 Budget, A Plan to Protect Ontario, and what they mean for families, business owners and seniors in King and Vaughan.

"The unifying theme of this year's budget is 'building' — building more here at home, being proud of our values, and being less reliant on others abroad," said MPP Lecce. "In this budget, we've cut the small business tax by over $1 billion, removed the HST on new homes, and expanded Highway 400 to get people and goods moving through King and Vaughan. We're also building two new long-term care homes, the York University School of Medicine, a second site for Southlake Hospital, and massively upgrading the GO transit network for commuters and riders. On the world stage, we are positioning Ontario as a nuclear energy leader by building the first Small Modular Reactor in the G7 at the Darlington Nuclear Plant — creating over 18,000 good-paying jobs here at home."
