Petition: Reject the "Defund the Police"

Now, more than ever, we need to do more to protect Canadians, support law enforcement, and combat crime.

​

Police provide protection to some of the most vulnerable members of society.

​

The Ontario government is stepping up to do so, by investing record amounts in our brave men and women in uniform.

​

We are supporting the York Regional Police Service (YRP) with the tools and investments they need to combat crime in our communities. That is why I announced over $3 million for the YRP in November to fight crime right here in York Region.

​

We have delivered over $17 million to hire more YRP's frontline officers to support community safety, including nearly 500 additional front-line police officers joining the YRP since we came to office.

​

The Ontario Government has launched the Guns, Gangs and Violence Reduction Strategy and; the 2023-2024 budget commits an additional $13.4 million to this strategy.

​

Now is not the time "defund the police".

Please sign this petition if you want reject the "Defund the Police" position, and want to see the Ontario Government continue funding police, seizing illegal guns, suppressing gangs, and supporting victims of violence through the Guns, Gangs, and Violence Reduction Strategy.
